Try the beer that started it all! In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Dogfish Head debuts Cherry Pale Ale, an off-centered reconstruction of Founder Sam Calagione’s first-ever homebrewed beer. A liquid time capsule transporting drinkers back to the mid-90s, this limited-edition beer is brewed with Delaware wheat, Maine barley, Cascade hops and boatloads of beautiful cherries for an easy-drinking, summertime sipper.
Grab some Cherry Pale Ale in this limited-edition 30th birthday box, complete with a 6pk/12oz cans of the beer alongside a selection of 90s-inspired Dogfish Head merchandise – a magnet, sticker pack, mini pennant flag and a special Post Tape digital cassette. Not to mention, each can of Cherry Pale Ale is lovingly affixed with a hand-crafted carpet coaster paying homage to Sam’s original brew.
“Well, when I first brewed Cherry Pale Ale, after heating the bottles in the oven to sanitize them, I placed them on the carpet to cool,” said Sam. “Little did I know the heat would melt the carpet to the bottles requiring me to cut a ‘coaster’ around each bottle. Hey, necessity is the mother of invention … right?”

I’m a huge collector of Dogfish Head beer and memorabilia. In fact, I have one of the original 50 memberships in the inaugural Dogfish Head mug club started years ago. Sam only offered 50 memberships… With a handmade mug that supposedly gives me Dogfish Head beer for life. I have number 48 of 50. I have the mug, T-shirt, and membership certificate. So when I found out DFH had issued a 30 year birthday package I went to the brewery in an attempt to buy one.
They told me at the brewery that they had none but that givethembeer.com was going to do a drop at 12 noon in a few days. Skeptically, I took this information and logged in on my computer 10 minutes before the designated drop time.
The drop time hit… The website became live… And I was able to get my allotment. They shipped them to me within days and now I have the latest addition to my collection.
They deliver what they promise. I am very impressed and couldn’t recommend them more.
